A shared lead is distributed to multiple buyers by a supplier. An exclusive lead is allocated to one buyer under that supplier's rules. Neither term means the customer has stopped speaking to other contractors independently.
Exclusivity needs a clear definition.
Ask who receives the details, when access begins and whether a previous buyer had access.
| Category | What it means |
|---|---|
| Shared | The supplier distributes the inquiry to multiple buyers |
| Exclusive | One purchasing account receives access under the supplier's policy |
| Returned Value | A prior buyer had access; after an approved return, one new account may buy |
| Territory exclusivity | A separate area agreement, not implied by buying one exclusive lead |
Normal and Value are different purchases.
Matagi's current ownership policy distinguishes Normal opportunities from Value leads made available after a completed refund. Value leads retain their original intent age and disclose prior access.
Value purchases are non-refundable. Read the ownership and refund guide before choosing between the categories.
The customer still chooses.
Supplier exclusivity cannot prevent a person from requesting other quotes, contacting a local contractor or changing plans. Your proposal, responsiveness and service still determine whether you win the work.
Avoid reading 'exclusive' as a guaranteed appointment, sale or permanently reserved ZIP code.
Common questions
Can an exclusive lead have a previous buyer?
Yes, when clearly offered as a returned Value lead. Prior access should be disclosed; exclusivity for the new purchase does not erase that history.
